Our mission is simple: we are a community-owned organization committed to contributing to the overall economic growth of Western New York. We do this by developing products and services that empower our members to meet their financial goals. Our vision is clear: to be the most trusted financial partner for the WNY community.

In 1957, a dedicated group of visionaries—Joseph Marciniak, Albert J. Taylor, Ralph R. Martin, Carl J. Seymour, Nelson Roberts, James J. Kyzmir, and Colen C. Ames—gathered at the UAW Hall on Walnut Street in Lockport. With $5 each and a shared dream, they founded Unit #1 Federal Credit Union to serve the unionized workers of GM’s Harrison Radiator Division.

Fast forward to 2003, and with a desire to better serve all of Niagara County, we secured a community charter through the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) and became Cornerstone Community Federal Credit Union. From our humble beginnings in the basement of the UAW Hall, Cornerstone has grown to become the largest credit union headquartered in Western New York, with six locations and over 44,000 members, serving both Niagara and Erie Counties.

As we continue to grow, we remain passionate about offering innovative solutions that not only support individual financial success but also contribute to the prosperity of the region.
